The Story
The Contrasté Chair is a striking design created by Pascal Mourgue (1943-2014) in 1982. It is made of a black stained beechwood frame with a large, rounded backrest and square seat. The seat has been newly re-upholstered in milk chocolate brown Christian Liaigre fabric. Mourgue described the chair as “simplicity in form, playing with a square and a circle, but drawn by hand: to inscribe tensions.” In good, vintage condition with wear appropriate to its age and use.
